The innies and outies of Apple TV Plus series Severance will return to the workplace in 2025. A new trailer for the second season of the Ben Stiller-produced sci-fi drama picks up right where the first season left off — with Adam Scott’s character Mark Scout (and audiences) reeling from the shocking revelations of the finale.
Severance season 2’s teaser trailer is a dizzying first look at the show’s return, with Mark desperately sprinting through the claustrophobic hallways of Lumon Industries. Is he in an innie state of mind? Or an outie one? Unclear. But the trailer serves as a quick reminder of where we left Mark way back in 2022: with the knowledge that his presumed-dead wife is still alive, and that the Lumon employees who tampered with the severance procedure that divided their work-life memories are looking for answers. In season 2, “Mark and his friends learn the dire consequences of trifling with the severance barrier, leading them further down a path of woe,” Apple said in a story synopsis.
Apple TV Plus’ new trailer also serves as an introduction to some of Mark’s new Lumon colleagues. Joining the staff in season 2 are Alia Shawkat (Arrested Development, Search Party), Bob Balaban (Capote, Seinfeld), and relative newcomer Stefano Carannante. Apple previously announced that Gwendoline Christie, Sarah Bock, Merritt Wever, Robby Benson, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, and John Noble will also join the Severance cast for season 2.
Returning for the second season are Severance regulars Adam Scott, Britt Lower, Tramell Tillman, Zach Cherry, Jen Tullock, Michael Chernus, Dichen Lachman, John Turturro, Christopher Walken, and Patricia Arquette. Also appearing? An unsettling watermelon sculpture in the shape of John Turturro’s head.
