A Worms Armageddon: Anniversary Edition has been rated by a Taiwanese ratings board, as spotted by the fine folk at Gematsu.
Worms Armageddon was released 1999, so an anniversary edition would be marking its 25th year. It’s often regarded as the best game in the long-running series. I know it’s my favourite, having played it damn near religiously back in the day.
This new version was listed as coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch.
The rating comes with a official blurb for the game: “Those intrepid inverterbrates return with a vengeance in the much-loved Worms Armageddon: Anniversary Edition. It’s a whole new can of worms! It’s hilarious fun that you can enjoy on your own or with all your friends.”
A 40-minute Nintendo Direct is scheduled for today with the focus being in 3rd party titles, so there’s a good chance this new edition of the classic Worms game will be announced there.
