Varun Dhawan is gearing up for the release of Citadel: Honey Bunny. Helmed by Raj & DK the show ties into the Citadel franchise featuring Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Richard Madden and more. At the trailer launch held today, Varun shared that the ‘90s were his favourite decade of filmmaking.
Opening up about the period the show is set in, Varun shared, “The show is set in the ‘90s, this is how it all began and how the future instalments will play out. It was like starting afresh, we didn’t have any references to look up to. We don’t get all the crazy gadgets that we get today. But we had to rely a lot on the things people did back in the decade.”
Referring to the decade during which his father David Dhawan released some of his greatest hits, Varun further shared, “The ‘90s also happen to be my favourite period of filmmaking and life because I was at the age where I was running wild probably. It was really fun.”
Citadel: Honey Bunny which also features Sikander Kher, Kay Kay Menon and others will release on November 7, 2024.
