Metaphor: ReFantazio, the next RPG from the creators of Persona 3, 4, and 5, is coming out Oct. 11 on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation platforms. Building off the success of the Persona titles — each full of moody tunes, min-maxing relationships for personal gain, and a turn-based system erupting with visual pizzazz — a team of Atlus veterans is here with something new (yet familiar). If you want to see how the game looks and feels ahead of its launch, my colleague Mike McWhertor had an extended August 2024 preview that has made me more excited.
If you’re just here to pre-order Metaphor: ReFantazio, you’ll find all of the relevant information below, including pre-order links, as well as breakdowns of what’s included with each edition of the game.
What’s in Metaphor: ReFantazio standard edition?
The standard edition of Metaphor: ReFantazio costs $69.99 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and on PC (via Steam and the Xbox store on Windows). On console, it’s available both as a physical disc or as a digital download, while it’s a digital-exclusive title on PC. If you have a PS4, you can buy a digital copy from Sony’s PlayStation store listing, but you’ll pay the current-gen pricing of $69.99 for it (it comes with a PS5 copy, too).
Whichever platform you have, the standard edition includes the same in-game item bonuses: the Archetype EXP Chest Set and the Adventurer’s Journey Pack. Journey below for more details.
What’s in Metaphor: ReFantazio digital deluxe edition?
One step up from the standard edition is the digital deluxe edition, which is also referred to as the Atlus 35th anniversary edition on some storefronts. It’s available for all platforms (PlayStation, Xbox, Steam) as a digital purchase that costs $99.99, containing all of the bonuses earned with the standard edition above, plus more in-game items and extras that fans of past Persona games (and other Atlus games, generally) might adore.
What’s in Metaphor: ReFantazio collector’s edition?
The collector’s edition for Metaphor: ReFantazio is the priciest, most bountiful configuration available, costing $149.99 for Xbox, Steam, and PlayStation at numerous retailers. The game comes in a limited edition Steelbook case, and the set includes other physical goods, as well as all of the aforementioned digital bonuses, in-game extras, and cosmetic unlocks contained in the cheaper editions.
