After giving birth to two boys, Mandy Moore is officially a girl mom.
The actress, 40, announced via Instagram on Wednesday, September 25, that she and her husband, Taylor Goldsmith, had welcomed their third baby together. “Lou is here! Louise Everett Goldsmith arrived happy, healthy, expeditiously and right in time for Virgo season,” she wrote alongside a hospital pic of herself holding her newborn.
“She is our absolute dream girl and her big brothers are already as obsessed with her as we are,” Moore added. ”Endlessly grateful for our family of 5 (and our very own big three) and soaking in every moment of this special time ??? .”
Several celebrities sent their congratulations to the happy family in the post’s comments. “Oh this is so exciting!!! Congratulations mama,” Amanda Kloots wrote, while Minka Kelly and Rachel Bilson each posted several heart emojis. Moore’s former This Is Us onscreen daughter, Chrissy Metz, commented, “Awww, Lou! Congratulationssssss!!! ?❤️?❤️?❤️?❤️?❤️?.”
Moore’s family now matches that of her This Is Us character, Rebecca Pearson. On the NBC series, Rebecca and husband Jack Pearson (Milo Ventimiglia) were the parents of two boys and a girl — played by Sterling K. Brown, Justin Hartley and Metz, 43 — whom they lovingly nicknamed “the big three.”
“Okay now I’m definitely crying. ‘Our big 3,’” one Instagram user commented, while another wrote, “Congratulations on your very own Big Three ???. How wonderful!!”
Louise’s birth comes nearly four months after she announced she was pregnant with the couple’s third child. “Sometimes life imitates art. The third in our own Big Three coming soon,” she captioned an adorable Instagram pic of her and Goldsmith’s sons Gus, 3, and Ozzie, 23 months, sporting shirts which read “big” and “middle.”
“Can’t wait for these boys to have a baby sister ???,” she added.
Moore and Goldsmith, who tied the knot in November 2018, became parents with the birth of Gus in February 2021. Their family expanded again when Moore gave birth to Ozzie in October 2022.
Shortly after debuting her baby No. 3 baby bump in June, Moore exclusively told Us Weekly that her boys have “taught me everything” about being a mother. “It’s like the cliche that every parent mentions, where your life just becomes technicolor after being black and white before them,” she quipped.
Noting that her kids have given her “purpose” and “meaning” in life, Moore added: “[Motherhood is] unexplainable, unknowable love until you get into this position. It’s the best, I love it.”
Last month, Moore was surrounded by several of her close friends — including Hilary Duff — at her at-home baby shower. “Perfect morning of the best food and even better company,” she captioned pics from the party via Instagram on August 24. “Thanks for making me and baby girl feel so loved and celebrated ??????.”
